year 1857 — The first tobacco produce was manufactured in Rostov-on-Don at the private factory of V.Asmolov. year 1860  — «Asmolov’s» tobacco appeared in Moscow. Along with direct purchases of tobacco in Odessa direct deliveries of raw material from Turkey and Bessarabia were established. the 1870s — «Asmolov’s» tobacco win recognition of the most prestigious exhibitions — a silver award of the Vienna exhibition (1873), golden awards of Paris (1876) and Philadelphia exhibitions. Vasiliy Asmolov receives a title of the «Supplier of the Court of His Imperial Majesty» and the right to mark the labels of his production with the inscription. year 1912 — The enterprise became the greatest private tobacco factory in the world by the quantity of the manufactured tobacco. The number of workers on the tobacco factory reached two thousand. year 1914 — The «Empire» of the Asmolovs admits two more tobacco factories working in Rostov at that time — «The Society of Y.S. Kushnaryev» and the tobacco factory of Aslanidi Brothers. year 1916 — a record due to the output of the factory is reached— 5 billion cigarettes and more than 2 thousand tons of  tobacco. year 1920 — Asmolov factory was renamed into Don State Tobacco Factory (DSTF). year 1926 — tobacco output was 22.5 million  a day that was fourfold more than the figures of 1922. Cigarettes for workers «Shury-Mury», «Oy-Oy», «Rezvushka», «Bravo», «Grivenniki», and for intelligentsia «Shedevr», «Triumf», «Orient» are produced. «Nasha marka» cigarettes were worked out. the 1930s — the first foreign automatic mechanisms appeared on the factory. year 1936 — DSTF got a new adding to its name «after Rosa Luxemburg» and manufactured 13 brands of cigarettes, including «Chapaev», «Kreml», «Kraevye». By the quality of products the enterprise gets the first place in the country. year 1942 — During the war tobacco and cigarettes became the front production. When one of the bombs destroyed the electric substation the factory was evacuated to Omsk. «Ermak» cigarettes were made for the first time and»Nasha marka» went on being manufactured. year 1943 — Restoration of the factory in Rostov. The first pack of cigarettes produced at the restored enterprise is called «Pobeda». the 1950s — Technical re-equipping of the factory. 133 machines of new technological equipment at the price of 1.1 million roubles were installed. year 1964 — «Laika», «Novost» cigarettes devoted to the first space projects were produced. year 1970 — the output of DSTF was increased to 20 billion cigarettes per year. Filter cigarettes appear. «Rostov» and «Kosmos» cigarettes were put into production. year 1992 — the Don State Tobacco Factory was reorganized into OJSC «Donskoy Tabak».  year 1993 — Ivan Savvidi was elected the Managing director of OJSC «Donskoy Tabak», who introduced the slogan «To Live And To Work Under The Russian Banner». year 1994 — Technical re-equipping of the enterprise becomes the main direction of development of OJSC «Donskoy Tabak». Its social establishments are being financed: kindergarten No. 64, medical  clinic, housing and public utilities, centres in Gantiady and on the left bank of the river Don, canteen. year 1999 — OJSC «Donskoy Tabak» stepped over 30 billion borderline of cigarette output. Company’s share in Russian market amounts 12%. The company fulfills more than 70% of the South of Russia and the Northern Caucasus market needs in cigarettes. year 2005 — OJSC «Donskoy Tabak» finishes implementation of an investment project to shift the cigarette production from the city centre to Rostov-on-Don industrial area on the left bank of the Don. The factory ranks among the most modern East European ones according to the technical equipment level.
