On February 5, 2008, the first press conference in the «GROUP AGROCOM» company history took place in the IA «Interfaks-Yug» press centre.

It was dedicated to sizing up the activity of 2007 and discussing perspectives of company businesses development. Sergey Bortsov — director general of LLC «GROUP AGROCOM», Pavel Aslanov — executive director of the «Tavr» group of companies, Sergey Sapotnitsky — executive director of JSC «Donskoy Tabak» and Liudmila Borodina — director in Communications of LLC «GROUP AGROCOM» participated in the press conference.

Sergey Bortsov told the journalists about the results of activity of «GROUP AGROCOM» businesses in 2007 and perspectives of development in 2008. He also answered the questions about purchasing the «Mezhdurechensky» sovkhoz and modernising of the «Kazachka» fish-farm.

Pavel Aslanov pointed out that feed mill construction was planned for 2009 and said the «TAVR» GC would carry out a number of measures to be certified according to HAASP international quality system. He also said some words about plans of cattle breeding.

Sergey Sapotnitsky answered the questions about selling of former tobacco factory building in Krasnoarmeiskaya Str., about joint projects of the «Donskoy tabak» company with the Dallas and Gallaher companies, and Innovation Tobacco Company, as well as about work of the united tobacco company with the purpose of cooperation with them and ready product realisation.

Such actions enable the «GROUP AGROCOM» company to be open and provide the information about its activity and plans on time.

«GROUP AGROCOM»: facts and figures

• In 2007, the «GROUP AGROCOM» sales volume increased by 12,9% (to 7,9 bln roubles) as compared to 2006.
• Investment project plan of 2008 is increased in 2,4 times and makes 1,7 bln roubles.
• According to the «GROUP AGROCOM» management plans, sales volume of 2008 will make 9 bln roubles which is by 1,1 bln more than in 2007.
• A big investment project of ZAO «Kazachka» fish-farm reconstruction is planned. It will allow to treble fish production by 2011 (the farm produces from 900 to 1,000 ton live fish annually now; production of not less than 2,500-3,000 tons a year is planned in 2009-2010, and of 3,500 tons a year for the future). It is planned to direct 200 million roubles for the purposes in 2008, with 15 million roubles of own assets having been used already.
• Purchase of the «Mezhdurechensky» winery (Semikarakorsky district of the Rostov region) is negotiated. Legal technicalities are settled which are related to drawing up the buy and sell transaction on the enterprise included in investment project of modernisation of pig breeding complex of ZAO «Bataiskoe».
• Feed mill construction is postponed to 2009.
• Novorossiysky meat-packing plant production will increase by 50% (ZAO «Myasokombinat Novorossiysky» plans to produce over 3,000 ton sausage in 2008).
