An immense project of port business development was launched in 2006 on the territory of new production complex of the «Donskoy Tabak» company.

Within the project, it was decided to widen the harbour wall (property of the «Primary Don» company) from the existing 230 to 500 metres and to create a modern mooring complex with own infrastructure. Some 80 million roubles were invested into realisation of the investment project of harbour wall widening in 2006. In spring 2007, the «Golden sheet pile» — the last pile closing the moorage perimeter — was installed. After construction works are finished, the total harbour wall length makes 500 metres, which allows to provide the unshipping front for four vessels at a time.

Development of rear ground is planned: railways and storage rooms are to be constructed, own port facilities are to be purchased. As Vladimir Pashkov, director in corporation development of LLC «GROUP AGROCOM» explains, «The hydraulic structure — the harbour wall — is already finished. Now the design is being made. The «Novorosproekt» Company, that is, the Novorossiysky Planning Institute which designs mooring terminals, works on the design of our mooring complex.
To run loading — unloading and production works, a certain illumination, certain surface for machines to move on are required; waste disposal plants are to be constructed, the area is to be developed, railway and storage rooms are to be constructed. At the moment everything is being designed, and the works will take about 3-3,5 months. After design works completion and approval, the design will be gradually realised. Today the moorage operates and receives dry cargos in working mode.»
