In the Russian tobacco market there are products produced on the basis of several types of tobacco blends.
At the moment the prevailing tobacco products are made on the basis of the following blends: «American blend», which is presented in all price segments, except low cost one without filter.
Traditionally from the point of view of the price segments in the market there are:
- segment of mouthpiece cigarettes and cigarettes without filter,
- low-cost segment (cost 1 package is less than 8 rubles),
- economy (8-13 rubles),
- medium (13-18 rubles),
- premium (18-30 rubles),
- elite (more than 30 rubles).
These days in the tobacco market of the Russian Federation there are more than 350 families of domestic and foreign production.

The Russian tobacco sector includes producers and raw material, materials and semi-finished product suppliers for tobacco sector, tobacco products manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers, as well as companies, dealing with marketing and sales of tobacco products.
